The Gathering Thunder of Grace

You know that strange silent electricity, that weighs heavy in the air, just before a storm?
I have a really odd sense that we're gonna get our travel dates REALLY SOON....  Little things are unexpectedly clicking into place.  Only the Lord knows how the finances or home prep. will keep up with this, if it does happen....
Another Christian connected with my resourceful friend, Leslie, and gave us a HUGE load of things for the kids.  I have a complete wardrobe for "little brother" now and even clothing for when he grows. AND we found a Leap-pad in the bottom of a box!  Being somewhat old-fashioned, I never would've asked for one, but this will really be a great tool for helping the kids learn English.  I am so grateful!
Half the clothes someone gave and a ride-on Fire Truck and the cute quilt David picked out.

Tomorrow we're going to paint the nursery!  I got the bucket of white paint at my favorite store, The Scrap Exchange, for $2. I'm going to be mixing in my own colors to try to get to a light gray/purple.  After that is done, I'll begin working on a mural of an underwater scene.  And we have a special idea in mind, that will give friends and family an opportunity to be a part of the love that surrounds the kids in their own room.

I posted this on Facebook to update those wonderful people who are supporting Gwenivere and Geoffrey: "Thank you so much for all of you who donated, shared, joined, prayed, donated, and bought to help us with our adoption of Gwenivere and Geoffrey! I can still hardly believe that we were able to have 3 SUCCESSFUL FB AUCTIONS! Wow! We are under a time crunch because of their location. The country they are in works very quickly and we may be traveling to get them VERY SOON. (BECAUSE OF YOU, WE REACHED our upfront costs in a FEW DAYS, and PAID for our Home Study and other fees, and have $3k that we'll get when we travel!) *There are many ways you can NOW help us rescue these children; we still need funds for preparations, Facilitator Fees, gov't fees, airfare, travel, visas, and passports for the children ! IN OUR AREA: -We have alot of home projects that we NEED help with to prepare our home, please message me if you can help with these. -We will be having an INTERNATIONAL DINNER fundraiser soon! -We need to give away A FREE QUEEN SEALY POSTUREPEDIC MATTRESS, and need 2 twin mattresses and box springs instead! -We will be having a Rummage Sale w/ other adoptive families! IN SAC., CA AREA: -We will be having a live Irish theatre show "Ten Minutes Too Late"! ANYWHERE:-We will be selling t-shirts for you to purchase! -We will be selling sinlge items on FB! Thank you again for your prayers and support. Love, David and Lara Wingler
TO DONATE: MAIL CHECKS TO 68 N. WHITAKER ST. FRANKLINTON, NC 27525 OR SEND PAYPAL PAYMENT TO (BUT THEY DO TAKE OUT A FEE): DAVE5008@GMAIL.COM AND DESIGNATE AS "GIFT", THANK YOU!"

*Praise the Lord, we have someone coming to pick up the Queen mattress next week!!! And someone may be giving us one twin mattress!

  1. I had no idea that you all were THIS close!!! You must be so excited! I can hardly wait to see photos of you and your children!

I have been so bad about commenting on blogs lately (though I have continued to read yours!), but while I haven't commented for awhile, I have been continuing to pray for you and your husband and Gwenivere and Geoffrey.

Looking forward to seeing the coming updates!

  2. Lara, I am so excited for you all as you bring these two little ones home. Will you please keep me updated on your status and please, please let me know what I can do to help. Would you like to share a need that I can share on my blog or Facebook page? Finances? Items for the children? Whatever you need I would love to help in any way. I will be praying for these next couple months and thankful for the Lord's provision in meeting your needs. Much love, Marci
